I walk there every day but I never saw it that way + Cladach

New films by Ed Webb-Ingall and Margaret Salmon that share an interest in the relationships between communities and the sea. In I walk there every day but I never saw it that way, Webb-Ingall engages communities around Arran to collectively consider questions such as ​‘who does the sea belong to?’, while Cladach by Salmon offers a filmic portrait of the Wester Ross coast and bordering community, with underwater footage and sound recordings from above and below the water.

The artists have selected Introduction to Fogo Island by Colin Low (1968) and Love Life of an Octopus by Jean Painlevé and Geneviève Hamon (1967) to screen alongside their films as examples of work that have influenced their artistic practices.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the artists.

Commissioned by art and science organisation Invisible Dust, I walk there every day but I never saw it that way and Cladach have been touring Scotland’s coastline as part of Shore: How We See the Sea.
