An Introduction to LUX Scotland
Wed 29 Nov 2017 / 1–2pm
LUX Scotland hosts a lunchtime talk for Glasgow School of Art students with Nicole Yip (Director) and Eve Smith (Programme Manager, Learning and Professional Development). This informal session will provide an introduction to LUX Scotland and the resources it offers to artists, curators and researchers, including access to the LUX Collection, the largest distribution collection of artists’ film and video in Europe.
They will also introduce SUPERLUX, LUX Scotland’s membership scheme, which supports artists and arts professionals in Scotland to develop more sustainable practices through professional development events, networking, skills development and post-education training.
LUX Scotland is a non-profit agency dedicated to supporting, developing and promoting artists’ moving image practices in Scotland. Working at the intersection of the contemporary visual arts and film sectors, our core activities include public exhibition and touring projects, learning and professional development for artists and arts professionals, distribution, commissioning and production support, research and sector advocacy.
From our offices based in Glasgow, we work with a growing network of national and international partners, including museums, contemporary art organisations, film festivals and educational institutions, to deliver our programme. One of our current priorities is the establishment of a new distribution collection of artists’ moving image based in Scotland.
