The LUX Glasgow Critical Forum is a free monthly discussion, development and support group for visual artists, curators and writers who work with the moving image. The aim of the group is to develop a new mutually supportive environment for members in dialogue with LUX Scotland, as well as the other LUX-supported Critical Forum groups in London, Newcastle, Dublin, Dundee, Cornwall, Belfast and Bristol.

Benjamin Cook (Director, LUX) will attend this preliminary meeting where we will discuss how the group works and what it might do over the coming year.

With LUX Scotland’s support over the next 12 months, the group will work together to explore the potential of the group situation for peer-learning, mutual critical and material support and development. While the group is convened and supported by LUX Scotland, it is run by and for its members on a collective basis, and thus demands a degree of collective commitment from group members.

Minimum commitment is one meeting per month, which will take place on the same Tuesday evening every month (6 – 9pm) in the CCA Cinema, Glasgow.

The forum is open to all artists, writers and curators who work with moving image as part of their practice, who are no longer in full-time education and who are willing to commit as a group participant for the next 6 months. After it begins, the group will work together for 6 months and no new members can join during this time.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Glasgow Critical Forum, please join us for this first meeting to find out more and decide whether it is something you would like to be part of. Please register for the meeting by emailing email hidden; JavaScript is required
