Duncan Marquiss will present a workshop exploring a variety of approaches to editing within artists’ moving image practices. Through practical exercises, discussion and looking at examples from the history of artists’ film and video, the workshop will consider the creative and critical possibilities of editing.
Duncan Marquiss (b. 1979 Scotland) is an artist who works with video, drawing and music. Recent exhibitions and screenings include Stalking The Image: Margaret Tait & Her Legacy, GoMA, Glasgow, 2019; We Would Be Lost Without You, Experimenta, BFI London Film Festival, 2018; Antiphon, LUX Scotland, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, 2017; and his solo exhibition Copying Errors at Dundee Contemporary Arts, 2016. Marquiss was the recipient of the Margaret Tait Award 2015 – 16.
