Jon Thomson & Alison Craighead, Saffron, 2018. Courtesy of the artists.

Programmed to coincide with Inverness Museum & Art Gallerys forthcoming exhibition, Trace Ingredients, this screening features the premiere of collaborative artists Thomson & Craigheads new film, Saffron, (2018), a portrait of Kasia Pogo, owner of the oriental food shop at the Victorian Market in Inverness, alongside a series of films from the LUX collection.

In Saffron, Kasia is the bridge between a network of global trade and a diverse clientele making their pilgrimages to her shop, revealing an intersectional map of sorts that represents something of the region’s often hidden diversity.
