We are pleased to release the latest set of bursaries for researchers (including artists, curators and programmers) who work with the moving image and are based in Scotland. The bursaries will be made available in February 2026, allowing four researchers free digital access to the LUX Collection for a two-week period that month.

The LUX collection is managed by LUX in London and is the largest distribution collection of artists’ moving image in Europe with over 5000 works by 1,251 artists from the 1920s to the present day. A complete list of works in the LUX Collection is available on the LUX online catalogue.

Selected bursary recipients will receive a login valid for a two-week period that will offer access to all works currently available online from LUX.

We will draw names out of a hat to select bursary recipients. To support as many people as possible, no individual will be awarded a bursary more than once a year. Further rounds of bursaries will be available in May 2026 and September 2026.

To apply, please complete this form by 10am on Monday 19 January 2026.

Selected bursary recipients will be notified by 5pm on Wednesday 21 January 2026, and will be sent further information to an online meeting for an introduction to the LUX Collection with Aqsa Arif (LUX Scotland Learning Programme Manager).
