We are pleased to release the latest set of bursaries for researchers (including artists, curators and programmers) who work with the moving image and are based in Scotland. The bursaries will be made available in June 2026, allowing four researchers free digital access to the LUX Collection for a two-week period that month.
The LUX collection is the UK’s largest collection of artists’ moving image by more than 1000 international artists, with over 6,000 works dating from the 1920s to the present, and it continues to grow with the addition of new works by contemporary artists and restorations of historic works. The collection is available for loan for screenings and exhibitions in the UK and internationally.
Selected bursary recipients will receive a login valid for a two-week period that will offer access to all works currently available online from LUX.
We will draw names out of a hat to select bursary recipients. To support as many people as possible, no individual will be awarded a bursary more than once a year. Further rounds of bursaries will be available in September 2026 and February 2027.
To apply, please complete this form by 10am on Tuesday 19 May 2026.
Selected bursary recipients will be notified by 5pm on Wednesday 20 May 2026, and will be sent login details alongside an introduction to the LUX Collection.

Within the film there is a faded image of five people in robes who appear to be in the middle of song with one person playing a stringed instrument.
