The LUX Critical Forum is a peer-led monthly discussion group for artists, curators, writers, researchers and other arts professionals who work with the moving image to talk about ideas and practice in a mutually supportive environment and in dialogue with LUX Scotland. LUX Scotland supports two groups that meet on a monthly basis in Dundee and Glasgow.

LUX Critical Forum Dundee meet on the second Tuesday of the month at GENERATOR Projects. Visit their facebook page for more information.

LUX Critical Forum Glasgow usually meet on a monthly basis at CCA Glasgow but are on a temporary hiatus. Please email if you would like to join or find our more about future meetings.

Meetings and group development are supported by LUX Scotland, by providing access to screening materials from the LUX collection and are also available to discuss ideas and research. The meetings are led, organised and directed by the membership.

LUX Critical Forum groups are open and welcome new members. They only require that members commit to attending regular meetings and are prepared to give a presentation to the group within the first six months of joining. If you would like to participate in one of the groups in Scotland, please email scotland [at]

LUX Critical Forum groups also operate in London, Dublin, Bristol and Cornwall.

LUX Scotland is also affiliated with the Edinburgh Artist Moving Image (eAmi) Critical Network
