A two-day workshop for artists seeking to develop their new moving image project led by Benjamin Cook (Director, LUX) with Eve Smith (Learning Programme Manager, LUX Scotland).

Working within an informal and mutually supportive small group environment, participants will bring a short project proposal to be workshopped over the two days.

The workshop will explore how to articulate new ideas, written and verbal presentation skills, placing projects and building partnerships, fundraising, exhibition and distribution strategies.

Using their own projects as case studies, participants will discuss and develop skills that can be applied within both art and film contexts, including preparing funding, residency and production award applications as well as presenting project proposals in a range of contexts. The workshop aims to build participants’ confidence and build momentum around each participant’s project.

Participants will present their projects to an invited panel (details forthcoming) on the second day of the workshop. This process will provide everyone with practice in presenting in a supportive environment with feedback and questions from the panel.

There are 8 places available and the workshop is open to artists working with the moving image based in Scotland. Please note that the group is for those who are no longer in full-time education.

We have a limited fund to support the travel and accommodation of selected participants to attend this event in Glasgow.

To express your interest in taking part, please send a CV and a short (no more than 1 A4 page) description of your project to email hidden; JavaScript is required

We will select participants based on those who would most benefit from peer learning, confidence and network building.

Selected participants will be required to prepare a presentation of up to 6 minutes for your project (which may include images and video) that will act as the catalyst for discussion.

Deadline for expressions of interest has been extended to: 21 March 2022, 10am

Selected participants will be notified by 23 March, 5pm.
