These Now & Next Application Advice Sessions are dedicated to D/deaf and Hard of Hearing artists who use British Sign Language (BSL). Originally due to take place as in person meetings, the sessions will now take place online using Zoom with the support of a BSL interpreter.

We ask that artists who do not require BSL interpretation book one of our other Now & Next Application Advice Sessions or to book onto one of our more general SUPERLUX Advice Sessions.

Now & Next aims to support Scotland-based artists from a wide range of disciplines to make high quality short audio or audio-visual content for BBC platforms, offering the opportunity to widen your networks, gain mentorship and support to develop your ideas and realise them to broadcast standard.

For each round of submissions, LUX Scotland offers Application Advice Sessions to discuss any aspect of the application process and project ideas. These 45 minute one-to-one meetings with BSL interpretation are aimed at addressing any questions or queries you may have about Now & Next, to discuss the suitability of the opportunity to your practice and ideas, and to discuss how best we can support you to make an application if you have any access requirements.

The meeting will take place on Zoom with Annie Crabtree, LUX Scotland Project Coordinator, with a BSL interpreter from Sign Live. An internet connection and access to a webcam and microphone are required to take part in this meeting. Zoom has the option of live captions via otter.ai that can be downloaded after the meeting for reference.

The meetings are 45 minutes long and are available at 9am, 10am, 11am, and 12pm.

Find out more about the opportunity and how to apply here.

Artists may also be interested in the Now & Next Application Support: A Guide to Budgets webinar on Wednesday 20 May at 3 – 4.30pm, which is also BSL interpreted with live captions.
