One-to-One Advice Sessions | November

Seeking advice on your work or future projects? These informal one-hour sessions are with members of the LUX Scotland team.

The sessions are aimed at developing a wide-ranging dialogue around your practice, including, but not limited to, discussing your work, exhibition possibilities, budget/​funding applications and production advice.

We will be in touch with you prior to the meeting to arrange an online link or to exchange telephone numbers, whichever is most suitable for your situation.

We have over 800 SUPERLUX members across Scotland and we are keen to offer advice sessions to as many members as possible over the coming months. So with this in mind, if you have had recently had an advice session with one of our team, please don’t book another session for 6 months. This ​‘6 month interval’ between sessions is to allow us to support everyone we can.

Eve (she/​her) joined LUX Scotland in 2017 and currently manages our SUPERLUX learning programme. From 2012 – 2016, Eve worked on the exhibitions and events programme at The Showroom, London including developing and producing new commissions with artists including Beatrice Gibson, Rana Hamadeh, Wendelien van Oldenborgh, Uriel Orlow, Ciara Phillips, Sarah Pierce and Falke Pisano.

Kitty (she/​her) joined LUX Scotland in September 2019. She was previously Curator at The Common Guild, Glasgow, where she commissioned and produced projects with a wide range of artists including Katinka Bock, Carol Bove, Ulla von Brandenburg, Steven Claydon, Phil Collins, Sharon Hayes, Janice Kerbel, Roman Ondák and Akram Zaatari. In 2013, Kitty co-curated the Scottish presentation for the Venice Biennale with an exhibition by Duncan Campbell, Corin Sworn and Hayley Tompkins. Campbell’s presentation went on to win the Turner Prize 2014. Kitty is a regular visiting lecturer at Glasgow School of Art and was previously a mentor on the MLitt in Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art). She has contributed to various publications and exhibition catalogues, participated in a number of selection panels, and given talks and presentations at various galleries and museums around the UK.

Annie (she/​her) joined LUX Scotland in October 2018. She is an artist and researcher based in Glasgow, specialising in feminism and moving image. She has undertaken residencies at Hospitalfield and Cove Park, including the Experimental Film and Moving Image Residency in 2019. Annie has recently been developing new moving image work for her first solo exhibition at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons due to take place as part of Glasgow International 2020. She has over eight years’ experience of arts administration and project management, working on wide range of events, exhibitions, participatory projects and public installations, including in her previous roles at NVA and Hospitalfield and as co-founder of projection project Picture Window.

David (he/​him) joined LUX Scotland in December 2018. He previously worked as Assistant Curator and Tour Coordinator with Project Arts Centre, Dublin. David continues to work as a freelance curator through exhibitions, publications and screenings. He has written exhibition reviews for MAP Magazine, Enclave Review, and Collected and has written texts for several artists’ publications. He has been a visiting lecturer at Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork.
