‘alice__alice’ playfully explores feelings of envy and inadequacy as triggered through social media. The film seeks to satirise the fictionality of other people’s lives as they are presented through social-media-perfect photographs and videos.
Rhona graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2017. Since then, she’s written and directed four short films supported by BFI NETWORK, BBC Scotland, LUX and The Newbridge Project. Her short films have screened at festivals including LSFF, Aesthetica, LOCO, GAZE, Bolton, Cambridge, Fringe! and Underwire. Rhona has participated in development programmes including Screen Scotland & LIM Writer’s Residency, BBC Introducing: Now & Next, BFI NETWORK WEEKENDER, Bloomberg New Contemporaries Mentoring with LUX and Film Hub Southeast Short Film Development Programme. Rhona is working towards her first feature film. Rhona also works as an Assistant Art Director on HETV productions.
