Call for applications
Deadline for applications: midnight, evening of Monday 10 December 2018
In 2019 Cove Park, in association with LUX Scotland and Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival, will award up to four funded Experimental Film and Artists’ Moving Image Residencies of two to four weeks each during the summer months. Emerging or established artists and filmmakers, based in Scotland, are welcome to apply to this programme. The summer residencies will take place between May and September 2019.
Founded in 1999 by Peter and Eileen Jacobs, Cove Park creates year-round funded and self-funded residencies across all art forms for national and international artists, collaborative groups and organisations. Cove Park is located on an outstanding 50-acre site overlooking Loch Long on Scotland’s west coast (just 60 minutes from Glasgow by road or rail).
Funded Residency Programme
Cove Park’s summer residency programme provides the time and support for artists to focus exclusively on their own practice. The emphasis is upon research, experimentation, creative exchange across art forms and the development of new work.
The artists /filmmakers will be part of a changing group of national and international residents specialising in a wide variety of art forms. Please see the website for information on those who have previously been awarded residencies at Cove Park. Artists are invited to take part in a series of informal studio presentations, talks, screenings and dinners organised by Cove Park throughout the summer programme. Residents may also have the opportunity to contribute to ‘Hands-On Cove Park’, Cove Park’s public education and participatory programme of events and activities.
LUX Scotland will be available to work with resident artists to support the development of public outcomes of research (if appropriate). Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival will extend a special invitation to participants to have their work considered for their 2020 edition.
